Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Review



Xperia Arc is the latest offering from Sony Ericsson. The Android smartphone, recently unveiled in the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) in Las Vegas, is the first smartphone to flaunt Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc features Equipped with Mobile Bravia Engine, the 4.2-inch touch screen display of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc produces sharper and crisper image. The new display technology improves the sharpness, contrast and colors of pictures and videos.

Xperia Arc has a beautifully curved ultra-slim body, barely 8.7mm thick. It has a stunning 8.1-megapixel camera, packed with high-end photography features, which you can find in standalone Sony digital cameras. The Exmor R sensor of the HD camera could capture vivid images even in poor light.

 


The camera also features LED flash, 2.46x digital zoom, touch focus, auto focus, image stabilizer, smile detection, face detection, and geo tagging. It can be used for recording 720p HD videos. High-definition pictures and videos captured with Xperia Arc’s camera could be streamed to HDTV through the integrated HDMI port.

The high-end device will run on the latest Android 2.3 operating system. Users can access Android Market and major Google services such as Google Search, Google Maps, Google Voice Search, YouTube and Gmail. The pre-loaded Timescape app collects updates from multiple social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter and organizes them in a single place for the convenience of the user.



The built-in media player and FM radio will entertain Xperia Arc users on the go. The PlayNow, Track ID and Album art features will further enhance your multimedia experience. This Android device will run on GSM networks. It offers up to 512MB of on board storage space and supports up to 32GB of external memory expansion via microSD card.

The impressive Android device could be connected to Bluetooth headsets. With the 3.5mm audio jack, you can connect the smartphone to wired headsets. The built-in GPS, pre-loaded Google Maps and Wisepilot turn-by-turn navigation will lead you to your destination.

The 3G-enabled device will support speedy web browsing. The integrated web browser supports pan and zoom features. Xperia Arc’s battery could support up to 6.9 hours of talk time and up to 17.9 days of standby time.

The midnight blue and misty silver colored handsets will arrive in the stores in the first quarter of this year.
